Former first lady Rosalynn Carter was honored in a tribute service at Glenn Memorial church in Atlanta, attended by President Joe Biden and the First Lady, as well as former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Georgia’s Democratic senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. Jimmy Carter, the former president, and Melania Trump were also expected to attend. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performed several of Carter’s favorite songs, including compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. The service was set to begin at 1 pm ET, but there was a delay as important dignitaries, including governors and senators, filed in for the event. Meanwhile, former New York Congressman George Santos, who is facing expulsion from Congress, has indicated that he has no plans to resign. Santos faces federal charges and is the subject of a House resolution for expulsion. Additionally, Nikki Haley received an endorsement from the Koch-affiliated Super PAC. Such an endorsement may be a huge boost to her Republican presidential campaign and make her the lead contender against former President Donald Trump, but poll numbers consistently show Trump in the lead among Republican voters, with Haley and Florida governor Ron DeSantis lagging behind.BuildContextAdsProcessed with VSCO with c1 preset
