Delaware high school spring sports: The News Journal announces all-conference teams for girls


The News Journal recently announced the girls all-conference teams for Delaware high school spring sports. These teams represent the top athletes in each sport from schools across the state.

In softball, Samantha Johnson from Sussex Central was named Player of the Year, while Kelly Smith from Appoquinimink was named Pitcher of the Year. Other standout players included Kylie Kriner from Appoquinimink, Grace Aguilar from Charter School of Wilmington, and Jenna Johnson from Sussex Central.

In lacrosse, Allyson Smith from Cape Henlopen was named Player of the Year. She was joined by players like Sarah Zubrowski from Caesar Rodney, Riley Taylor from Padua, and Olivia Day from Archmere Academy on the All-Conference team.

In track and field, Emerald Belo from Tatnall was named Athlete of the Year. Other top performers included Aniyah Williams from Smyrna, Sarah Cooke from St. Mark’s, and Analiese Scott from Howard.

In soccer, Peyton Kemp from Padua was named Player of the Year, while Delaney Carey from Caesar Rodney was named Goalkeeper of the Year. Additional standout players included Lily Lengle from Padua, Kaileigh Brady from Smyrna, and Morgan Desautels from Archmere Academy.

These girls all-conference teams showcase the talent and dedication of female athletes in Delaware high schools. Congratulations to all the players who earned this prestigious recognition.
