Future opponents announced by Delaware football team


The Delaware football team, despite moving up to the FBS level, has announced that they will continue to play some FCS opponents in future schedules. The Blue Hens have added three FCS teams as non-conference home matchups, including Merrimack in 2026, Long Island in 2027, and Bucknell in 2029.

The game against Merrimack on September 19, 2026 will mark the first-ever matchup between the Hens and the Warriors. In 2027, Delaware will face LIU for the first time in their season opener on September 2. Additionally, UD will play Bucknell on September 8, 2029, continuing their series history where they hold the advantage.
