Delaware Football Updates Future Home Schedules with Addition of 3 FCS Opponents | Get the Latest News from WDEL

The University of Delaware has added three more Football Championship Subdivision opponents to their schedules as they navigate their first five years in the Football Bowl Subdivision. After years of playing guaranteed pay games at FBS schools, Delaware will now be the ones giving money to Merrimack, LIU, and Bucknell to play in Newark. The school also announced their 2025 game at Wake Forest has been rescheduled for November 22, 2025. Delaware will play a complete FCS schedule in 2024 before transitioning to the FBS level in 2025. The university aims to play more games at Delaware Stadium, but that may not be a priority in the short-term.

The future non-conference schedules for the University of Delaware football team include games against Delaware State, Wake Forest, Colorado, and UCONN in 2025. In 2026, they will face Coastal Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Merrimack, among others. The years ahead feature matchups against powerhouses like Penn State, Virginia, and Pittsburgh, with more games yet to be announced in 2028 and beyond. The team is set to face a mix of FCS and FBS opponents as they continue to establish themselves at the higher level of competition. Delaware football fans can look forward to an exciting lineup of games in the coming years as the team forges ahead in their new division.
