Dover’s 4th of July celebration was a huge success this year, as Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd North was filled with vendors and attendees. The parade featured the 287th Army Band and was led by Dover Mayor Robin R. Christiansen and Councilman Fred Neil. The parade traveled down State St., with a quartet of Dover Police Department motorbikes leading the way.
Festivities included carnival games, an ice cream truck, and a miniature train offering rides by Legislative Mall. A massive American flag was proudly displayed outside Legislative Hall, with Shawn “DJ Giz” Fulton providing music from below. As evening fell, onlookers began to set up camp on Legislative Mall to view the fireworks show, which lit up the sky above Legislative Hall in celebration of Independence Day.
The event was a true community celebration, with residents coming together to enjoy the holiday and honor the country’s independence. Dover’s 4th of July celebration was a fun and patriotic way to spend the holiday with family and friends.
