The company, formed late last year, has received over $3 million from Trump’s campaign for various activities including digital marketing and online advertising.
Despite being relatively unknown, Launchpad Strategies LLC’s ownership remains unclear and its business activities are somewhat opaque. The company’s ownership is registered at a condo in Dover, Delaware, but its actual owners have not been disclosed. Additionally, the company’s website, launchpad-strategies.com, offers little information beyond a logo emerging from animated clouds.
The Trump campaign has defended Launchpad Strategies as a digital advertising company focused on fundraising. However, the lack of transparency regarding the ownership and operations of the company has raised concerns among election observers, especially in light of Trump’s history with Delaware LLCs and dealings with anonymous corporations.
Trump has a history of using Delaware LLCs for various business transactions, including payments related to the Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal affairs that led to a fraud trial in May. Multiple Delaware LLCs were also involved in shielding millions of dollars in payments from the Ukraine during Trump’s presidential campaign.
