The Milton Lions Club recently hosted a fun-filled event in Memorial Park, where attendees of all ages flocked to join in on the activities. From piloting the Milton Clipper Express to attempting to beat chess whiz Rick Thompson, there was no shortage of entertainment. Kids like Evelyn Burkowski, 5, had a blast trying to get a ball into a cupcake tray while adults like Robbie Payton of the Milton Fire Department braved the dunk tank.
In addition to the games and fun, there was also a touch of education at the event. Barbara Johnson from the Delaware Readiness Teams, a statewide nonprofit, was there to promote literacy by giving out free books to attendees. This added a valuable component to the day’s festivities, ensuring that everyone left with not just memories but also knowledge.
One of the highlights of the event was the petting zoo, where Travis Holleman of Camp R.O.O.T.S in Georgetown introduced attendees to animals like Sweetie. The petting zoo was a hit with both children and adults, allowing everyone to get up close and personal with some furry friends.
Overall, the event was a huge success, with attendees raving about the variety of activities and the sense of community that was fostered. The Milton Lions Club truly outdid themselves in creating a day of fun, education, and togetherness for all who attended.
