Coastal Carolina and Delaware have announced a football series set for 2026 and 2029. The Chanticleers will travel to Delaware on September 3, 2026, with the Blue Hens making a return visit to Coastal Carolina on September 22, 2029. This will be the first matchup between the two schools in football history.
Coastal Carolina, coming off an 8-5 season and a Hawaii Bowl victory over San Jose State, will be the second nonconference FBS opponent to play at Delaware after UConn in 2025. Delaware, who finished 9-4 in their final FCS season and lost in the playoffs, will begin their transition to the FBS this upcoming season.
This announcement adds an exciting matchup to both schools’ schedules and gives fans something to look forward to in the coming years. As both teams continue to grow and compete at the collegiate level, this series will provide an opportunity for them to showcase their talent on a larger stage.
