Delaware concludes spring football on a high note with a satisfied team

Delaware’s football team ended their spring practice on Friday night with their Blue-White spring game resulting in a 30-30 tie. The game showcased the team’s offensive talent with multiple touchdowns scored, including a 15-yard catch by Santino Correa. Quarterback Ryan O’Connor praised the team’s energy and effort throughout the game and the entire spring practice period. The team’s offensive success was attributed to the talented quarterbacks, including O’Connor, Daniel Lipovsky, and Nick Minicucci.

Coach Ryan Carty highlighted the team’s focus on maintaining a high level of energy and effort during the 15 practices leading up to the spring game. The game also highlighted the team’s depth at the quarterback position, emphasizing the different playing styles of each quarterback and how it prepared the defense for fall challenges. The team is also navigating roster changes due to the Transfer Portal, with more changes expected before pre-season camp in August.

In addition to the game action, the team welcomed new additions like receiver/punt returner Jake Thaw, who previously played on Michigan’s FBS national championship team. The transition from FCS to the FBS level this fall will present new challenges for the Hens, who will play an FCS schedule but won’t be eligible for the NCAA playoffs. Despite the changes, the team is focused on maintaining their culture and preparing for the upcoming season.
