Delaware’s sports betting market experienced a significant increase in consumer spending in March, with expenditures surging by 440% compared to the same period in the previous year, reaching $18.9 million. This growth can be attributed to the launch of Delaware Lottery’s first online sportsbook, powered by Rush Street Interactive (RSI) and BetRivers, which went live in January. The handle in March far exceeded last year’s $3.5 million and was also up 37% from February’s $13.8 million. In terms of revenue, Delaware’s sports betting operators generated a total of $1.0 million in March, marking an 89.2% increase from the previous year.
Delaware Park emerged as the top revenue generator in March, reporting $681,548 from bets totaling $13.1 million, followed by Harrington Raceway with revenue of $176,583 from $3.3 million in bets, and Bally’s Dover in third place with revenue of $113,692 from $1.5 million in bets. Additionally, $58,273 in sports betting revenue was generated from bets placed with retailers across the state.
In the online casino segment, March also saw a significant increase in total spending, reaching $136 million, a 227.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Total revenue from online casinos reached $4.6 million in March, a substantial 228.6% increase from the previous year. Delaware Park was once again the top performer in the online casino market, reporting revenue of $2.0 million, followed by Harrington Raceway with $1.6 million, and Bally’s Dover with $951,096 in revenue.
