Traffic on US 23 will be impacted by culvert work

Starting July 8th, drivers on U.S. Route 23 between Meeker Way and state Route 315 will be impacted by lane reductions due to culvert work being done by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) near The Barn at Stratford. The construction will last until July 28th, and a detour will be in place using Meeker Way as Stratford Rd will be closed at U.S. 23.

In an effort to expedite the project, ODOT has implemented contract incentives to encourage the contractor to finish the work as quickly as possible. This will help minimize the disruption to traffic flow in the area.

For the safety of both construction workers and drivers, it is important for motorists to stay alert, reduce their speed, and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone. The “Move Over or Slow Down” law also applies in this situation, so drivers need to be mindful of emergency vehicles and crews working on the road.

The City of Delaware has issued this advisory to inform residents and commuters about the upcoming roadwork and to remind everyone to exercise caution when traveling through the construction zone. Your cooperation and patience during this time are greatly appreciated.
