Delaware County medics receive national recognition

Delaware County Emergency Medical Services (DCEMS) in Ohio has been recognized for its outstanding care of patients suffering from heart attacks or strokes. The agency has received national recognition from the American Heart Association (AHA) for the past 10 years and recently received the EMS Gold Achievement Award from the AHA’s Mission Lifeline Program for the eighth consecutive year. The agency’s director, Jeff Fishel, emphasized the importance of not just transporting patients to the hospital but also providing high-quality and compassionate care.

DCEMS is well-prepared to handle emergency calls related to chest pain, which is a common occurrence for the agency. Captain Glen Keating highlighted that cardiac care is their specialty and they are committed to providing the best possible care to patients in need. Fishel acknowledged that the recognition from the AHA is a result of the collaborative effort of DCEMS, 911 dispatchers, local fire departments, and hospitals.

The agency’s dedication to training and professionalism has enabled them to effectively respond to emergency situations and save lives. Fishel expressed pride in the hard work and dedication of the staff at DCEMS, emphasizing that providing quality care to the citizens and visitors of Delaware County is their top priority. With their focus on cardiac care and commitment to excellence, DCEMS continues to be a reliable and trusted resource for those in need of emergency medical assistance in the community.
