Rapper and singer Sean Kingston and his mother have been indicted on federal charges in South Florida for committing over $1 million worth of fraud. The indictment accuses them of participating in a scheme to defraud victims of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry, and other goods using fraudulent documents. Kingston was previously booked on similar state charges after being arrested at an Army base in California, while his mother was arrested during a SWAT team raid at his mansion in Florida.
The federal indictment alleges that Kingston and Turner falsely claimed to have made monetary transfers for high-end items when they had not, resulting in them keeping over $1 million worth of fraudulently acquired goods without paying for them. The state charges state that they stole jewelry, money from various banks, and a car dealership over a period of several months.
Kingston, known for his hit song “Beautiful Girls” and collaboration with Justin Bieber, is already serving probation for a previous crime. His mother has a criminal history as well, having pleaded guilty to bank fraud in 2006.
Their attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, has expressed confidence in a successful resolution to the charges but did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The case is ongoing, and Kingston and his mother are facing serious legal consequences for their alleged fraudulent activities.
