Ukraine’s military engaged in repelling a Russian air attack on the capital over the weekend. The UK Ministry of Defence noted that these Chechen forces had been fighting in Ukraine since 2014 but had previously been relegated to rear area security operations. However, with the withdrawal of Wagner forces, these TikTok soldiers are being pressed back into frontline service.
Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump expressed his intention to prevent World War III and settle the war between Russia and Ukraine if he is re-elected in November. Trump mentioned a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and claimed he would end the war quickly, without specifying how. Zelenskiy confirmed his agreement to arrange a meeting with Trump.
