The Trenton Township recently held a community meeting to address concerns about potential annexation into Sunbury. Officials have put together a question-and-answer guide to provide more information to residents. The township is exploring various economic development tools, including a TIF district, to disincentivize annexation and protect the township from increased growth pressure. Plans for a roundabout at State Route 37 and County Line Road are in the works, as well as a State Route 37 Corridor Study by ODOT. The township trustees have also discussed issues such as a road closure for culvert installation, solar farms, and approval of road maintenance contracts. Additionally, the trustees voted to exclude the township from the Community Development Block Grant Program Urban Qualifications for the next few years. The next trustees meeting is scheduled for August 7. The township trustees include Mark Almendinger, Richard Fisher, and Kevin Justice, with Keith Barney as road and cemetery supervisor, Mike Dattilo as zoning inspector, and Cindy Walton as fiscal officer. Community members are encouraged to visit the township’s website, Facebook, or Instagram for more information. Assistant Editor Gary Budzak is reporting on stories in eastern Delaware County and surrounding areas.
