Bryony Page of Team GB has won the gold medal in women’s trampolining at the Olympics, marking the first British medal in gymnastics at this Games. She scored 56.480, with Viyaleta Bardzelouskaya of the neutral athletes taking silver and Canada’s Sophiane Methot winning bronze. Page’s victory came after the final Chinese athlete fell off the equipment, securing her a spot on the podium. The win was met with joy and celebration for Team GB.

In other news, Paris prosecutors have opened a hate speech investigation following death threats and insults received by Olympics opening ceremony artistic director Thomas Jolly. The threats were related to his sexual orientation and falsely assumed Israeli roots. The central office for combatting crimes against humanity and hate crimes is handling the investigation.

The men’s skiff sailing gold was secured by Spain’s Diego Botin le Chever and Florian Paul Trittel, with New Zealand and the USA taking silver and bronze, respectively. At the same time, women’s trampolining qualifiers for the final are ongoing, with GB’s Bryony Page already securing her spot. The men’s hammer throw qualification has also been completed, with athletes progressing to the next round. Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz and Felix Auger-Aliassime are set to compete in the men’s singles tennis semi-final.
