The Hayes High School Pacer Spirit Committee is gearing up to host their annual fall Pacer Fest on Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m. The event aims to highlight and promote the various teams and clubs that will be competing in the upcoming fall season. Organized by Brooke Brenner, a sixth-grade teacher and committee member, the event will feature a traditional pep rally, performances by the Grand Pacer Marching Band and cheerleading squads, as well as activities for younger children like games and temporary tattoos.
Brenner hopes that the event will bring the district and community together, showcasing the accomplishments of Hayes High School athletes and encouraging support for all student athletes throughout the school year. By providing an opportunity for families to make a night out of the event with food trucks and prizes, the Pacer Fest aims to increase attendance at fall events and promote school spirit.
This will be the third fall Pacer Fest organized by Brenner, who is excited to see the community come together to support the students and kick off the school year on a positive note. The event has become a highly anticipated tradition, with attendees expressing enthusiasm and excitement for the upcoming festivities. By uniting the district and community to support their student athletes, the Pacer Fest exemplifies the strong sense of community in Delaware and sets a positive tone for the school year ahead.
