Salesianum Claims Victory over Caesar Rodney to Win State Baseball Championship – Delaware Live


Salesianum School claimed its eighth Delaware state championship in baseball on Saturday with a 7-4 victory over Caesar Rodney. The showdown took place at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington and drew in a large crowd of supporters for both teams.

Salesianum got off to a strong start, scoring 5 runs in the first two innings. Caesar Rodney responded with 2 runs of their own, but Salesianum extended their lead with another run in the fourth inning. Caesar Rodney managed to score 2 more runs in the fifth, but it was not enough to overtake Salesianum’s lead.

The star of the game for Salesianum was pitcher Matthew Cinquina, who threw a complete game, allowing just 7 hits and 4 runs while striking out 6 batters. Offensively, Salesianum was led by Luke Swift, who went 3 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs.
