Actor Matthew Perry was found to have been struggling with a severe ketamine addiction, injecting the drug multiple times a day before his accidental overdose. Perry’s personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, and Dr. Salvador Plasencia were among five people charged in connection to his death. Plasencia allegedly supplied Perry with unsupervised doses of ketamine, leading to an out-of-control addiction. Perry was found dead in his home with high levels of ketamine in his system, equivalent to a surgical dose. Iwamasa admitted to injecting Perry with ketamine on the day of his death and stated that Perry had been introduced to Plasencia just a month prior to his passing. Plasencia allegedly left additional ketamine for Perry despite adverse reactions to the drug. Another individual named Erik Fleming also pleaded guilty to distributing ketamine resulting in death. Perry, known for his role in “Friends,” had been struggling with addiction issues and openly discussed his battles with substance abuse. Despite his struggles, Perry had worked towards sobriety and helped others battling addiction. He converted his Malibu residence into a sober-living home in the past. Perry’s final days were marred by his uncontrollable ketamine addiction, ultimately leading to his tragic death.
