Michael Rainey Jr., known for his role in the Starz crime drama “Power Book II: Ghost,” will be participating in the 20th annual Duffy’s Hope Celebrity Game in Delaware on August 3rd. The fundraiser aims to support free programming for youth and families, including assistance with college, career, and other skills. In addition to a celebrity basketball game, the event will feature the Duffy’s Hope High School All Star Game, raffles, games, prizes, food, and entertainment.
Rainey, a 23-year-old actor, plays Tariq St. Patrick in the “Power” universe, following in his father’s footsteps as a kingpin. The final season of “Power Book II” premiered recently, garnering 6.5 million multi-platform viewers in its first week. Rainey recently spoke out after a video appeared to show him being sexually assaulted during a livestream.
Duffy’s Hope, founded in 1998 by Allen “Duffy” Samuels, supports at-risk youth in Wilmington through various programs, serving over 6,500 youth in the area. Tickets for the event, taking place at Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington, range from $35-$120. Last year’s charity basketball game featured stars from the “BMF” crime drama and celebrities like Larenz Tate and Jimmie Allen.
The event promises a fun-filled evening while supporting a good cause. Attendees can look forward to an exciting basketball game and a variety of activities, all in support of empowering youth and promoting positive growth.
