Delaware Department of Transportation is considering a roundabout as one of the concepts for resolving safety issues at the intersection of Marsh Road and Baynard Boulevard in North Wilmington. With more than 20 crashes at the intersection since 2019, a roundabout could help slow traffic and reduce accidents. DelDOT is still in the land survey phase and plans to present concepts to the public at a workshop next spring. Roundabouts are not common in Delaware, with only 33 in the state, but they have been shown to reduce serious and fatal crashes by 70 to 90 percent and improve traffic flow. The potential roundabout at Marsh Road and Baynard Boulevard could provide numerous benefits, including enhanced safety and improved traffic flow. Residents will have an opportunity to provide feedback and learn more about the project at the upcoming public workshop. Stay tuned for updates on this proposed improvement to the intersection in North Wilmington.
