Central Ohio Kidney Walk scheduled for September 29

The 15th annual Central Ohio Kidney Walk is set to take place on September 29, giving central Ohio residents the opportunity to join in the fight against kidney disease. Hosted by the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the event aims to raise funds for programs that support patients with kidney disease, promote research, raise awareness, and advocate for legislative change. The walk is part of a national effort to address the issue of kidney disease, which affects 37 million Americans, with communities of color being disproportionately impacted.

Participants are encouraged to create personal fundraising pages to help raise money for the cause, with over 86 cents of every dollar donated directly supporting NKF programs and services. The event is also an opportunity for families affected by kidney disease to come together in solidarity and hope. Structural racism and social determinants of health are recognized as contributing factors to kidney disease disparities, prompting the NKF to advocate for change and promote kidney health equity.

Individuals can register for the Central Ohio Kidney Walk at www.kidneywalk.org/centralohio. The event is sponsored locally by Bibibop Asian Grill.
