A major drug trafficking operation in Delaware County, Pennsylvania has been dismantled, resulting in the arrest of eight men and the search for a ninth suspect. The investigation, dubbed “Operation Rat Pack,” began in February 2024 and targeted a group led by Baruti Mills that allegedly trafficked cocaine from sources in Philadelphia.
Police seized $63,073 in cash, six vehicles, three handguns, ammunition, cocaine, and marijuana in a series of raids across Delaware County and Delaware. The suspects are facing charges including operation of a corrupt organization, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy, and firearms offenses.
District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer emphasized the importance of dismantling drug organizations to make the community safer. Bail for the arrested men was set at $500,000 cash, and their preliminary hearings are scheduled for August 28, 2024. The investigation involved wiretaps, undercover purchases, and a significant investment of time and resources to target the key figures responsible for the drug trade in the county.
The operation highlights the commitment of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and protect communities from the harmful effects of illegal narcotics.
