Nominees for Athlete of the Week in Delaware County

The Ball State Daily News has launched a new program to honor outstanding athletes each week. Candidates are chosen based on their impressive performances, and the community can vote for their favorite. The nominees for the week of Aug. 19 to Aug. 24 include Delta’s senior football player Bronson Edwards, who led his team to victory with four touchdown passes, Wapahani’s senior volleyball player Sophia Beeson, who excelled with 16 kills and 13 digs in a 3-0 win, Yorktown’s football player Cole Perdue, who scored two touchdowns including a pick-six in a 42-2 victory, and Daleville’s senior volleyball player Trishell Johnson, who recorded 23 kills in a 3-1 win. To cast your vote for the athlete of the week, check the Daily News Sports account on X. The winner will be announced the day after the voting closes.
