Milford City is inviting residents to provide input on the design of a new park and trail system on the Sharp property. Mayor Todd Culotta encourages community members to share their ideas on the amenities that should be included in the park. The city has secured funding from the Outdoor, Recreation, Parks and Trails Program (ORPT) with DNREC, and has purchased the property for development.
An open house will be held on September 12 at City Council Chambers where residents can view display boards showcasing features under consideration and speak with city staff about the plans. Parks and Recreation Director Brad Dennehy emphasized the importance of resident feedback in shaping the final design.
Following the completion of the design phase, the city will present multiple options to the public for review. Feedback gathered at the open house will be used to inform the final plan for the park. Residents are encouraged to reach out to Dennehy with any questions or concerns.
The transformation of the Sharp property into Deep Branch Park represents a significant step towards providing outdoor recreation opportunities for Milford residents. The city is committed to creating a park that meets the needs and desires of the community, and looks forward to hearing from residents at the upcoming open house.
