The war between Russia and Ukraine has entered its 914th day with intense fighting as of Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Russia targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure with drones and missiles, resulting in casualties and severe damage. Ukraine’s Air Force commander claimed to have shot down a significant number of missiles and drones launched by Russia.

Ukraine claims to have developed a new long-range weapon, the Palianytsia, to strike deep into Russia. Notably, Russia was the only member of the UN Security Council to skip an informal meeting in Switzerland on international humanitarian law.
