City Begins Study on Village Green

The City of Powell has approved plans to develop the entirety of the Village Green in downtown Powell. Led by Pizzuti Solutions, the Village Green and Downtown Powell Master Plan project aims to revitalize the area and provide residents with a central community hub. The initial phase includes gathering information through market analysis, community surveys, and stakeholder engagement to guide the master plan. This phase is expected to last 10 months and be completed next summer.
With an estimated cost of $550,000, the City is able to move forward with this project thanks to a recent approval of an income tax rate increase. City Manager Andrew White highlighted the importance of this project and the potential impact it could have on the downtown core.
Mayor Tom Counts emphasized the need for community involvement in planning and funding the revitalization of downtown Powell. This project is seen as an opportunity for the City to make a difference and strengthen the community.
