Israel conducts large-scale raids in occupied West Bank

Israeli forces conducted an aerial counterterrorism operation in the area of Al-Faraa refugee camp, killing four armed militants. The Palestinian health ministry reported at least nine fatalities, and the governor of Jenin stated that Israeli forces surrounded the area, blocking off access to hospitals. Residents were warned to evacuate, but it was not mandatory. Witnesses reported seeing the camp surrounded by Israeli forces, with entry roads blocked and medical facilities besieged. The Palestinian Prime Minister’s office condemned the incursions into hospitals as a threat to patients and medical staff. Israel’s Foreign Minister linked the raids in the West Bank to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, stating that Israel must address the threat posed by terrorist infrastructures in the same manner. He described the situation as a “full-fledged war” and vowed to win it by intensifying operations in Jenin and Tulkarem to eradicate “Islamic-Iranian terrorist infrastructures”. He accused Iran of funding and arming terrorists in the West Bank in an effort to create a new front against Israel, similar to Gaza and Lebanon. Israel frequently blames Iran for violence in the region, citing its support for militant groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
