Paving work funded by a grant scheduled to start

The City of Delaware is set to begin grant-funded paving work on multiple streets starting on Sept. 3. The project, which is expected to last about four weeks, will include upgrading concrete curb ramps on Noble Street, Ross Street, Eaton Street, and David Street. The majority of the $640,000 project is being covered by a Community Development Block Grant from the State of Ohio, with the rest being funded by the city.
This initiative is part of a larger effort to improve the quality of life for residents in Delaware and is one of nearly two dozen Ohio communities receiving funding for neighborhood improvement projects. The second phase of the project is scheduled for 2025 and will focus on paving South Washington Street from Bernard Avenue to London Road.
Mayor of Delaware, John Doe, expressed his appreciation for the grant funding, stating that it will help enhance the city’s infrastructure and make it more accessible for all residents. The City of Delaware encourages residents to be patient during the construction process and to follow any detours or road closures that may be in place during this time.
