Four people were shot and killed on a Chicago Transit Authority train at the Blue Line station in Forest Park. The suspect was captured on a Pink Line train through security footage and arrested. Law enforcement did not release the victims’ identities pending notification of their next of kin. The shooting is believed to be targeted and isolated, with only one suspect involved. The motive is still under investigation. The Chicago Transit Authority called the shooting a “heinous and egregious act of violence” and is cooperating with local police in the investigation. The CTA deployed resources to aid in the investigation, including reviewing security camera footage. The CTA reassured the public that there is no immediate threat to the community.
