Palestinian man dies one hour after being arrested by Israel in the occupied West Bank | Israel-Palestine conflict Update

Amid intensified Israeli attacks on the occupied West Bank, the body of a 58-year-old Palestinian man, Ayman Rajeh Abed, was handed over to the Palestine Red Crescent Society by Israeli troops. Abed, who belonged to Kafr Dan village, was arrested and later pronounced dead, with signs of beating and torture visible on his body.

The Israeli military claimed Abed experienced a cardiac event upon arrival at a detention facility during “counterterrorism” operations. However, the circumstances surrounding his death are under review. This incident occurred as Israeli forces continued operations in Jenin for the sixth day, with bulldozers searching for roadside bombs and causing extensive damage to houses and infrastructure.

Palestinians in Jenin have described the Israeli actions as “collective punishment,” alleging that civilians are paying the price for supporting armed fighters. At least 29 Palestinians have been killed, with Israel claiming they were members of armed factions including Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Another 121 individuals have been wounded, and additional casualties were reported in Qabatiya near Jenin.

The ongoing conflict has raised concerns about the escalation of violence and human rights violations in the region. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military operations and clashes. International organizations have called for a ceasefire and dialogue to address the root causes of the conflict and prevent further loss of life and suffering.
