The Delaware County District Library is celebrating Disability Voting Rights Week 2024 and preparing for National Voter Registration Day 2024. In Ohio, eligible voters must ensure their registration information is received by October 7 to vote in the upcoming presidential election. The library is a designated agency in Ohio to provide voter registration applications and assistance to the public.
A group representing the library, the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the League of Women Voters of Delaware County, and Disability Rights Ohio received a proclamation recognizing Disability Voting Rights Week in Delaware County. Efforts have been made to foster an inclusive environment for all voters at the polls.
The library will have a representative from the Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities at the Orange Branch Library to answer questions about voting rights for the disability community. Volunteers from the League of Women Voters will also be at various library branches to provide information on voter registration and current voting laws.
The library also offers a selection of new thriller and mystery books, including titles like “Burn It All” by Maggie Auffarth and “What Fire Brings” by Rachel Howzell Hall. Readers can find more information about voter registration and upcoming elections at the library’s website or by contacting the library directly.
For any questions or concerns, readers can contact Nicole Fowles at the Delaware County District Library. The library is dedicated to providing valuable resources and information to help residents engage in the democratic process.
