Jackson’s return boosts communication on Buckeye offensive line

In a dominating performance, the Ohio State offensive line showed significant improvement from week one to week two of the college football season. Despite missing starting left guard Donovan Jackson due to injury, the Buckeyes’ offensive line featured three new starters who shone in their roles. Guard Tegra Tshabola and center Seth McLaughlin made their first starts at Ohio State, while guard Austin Siereveld made his first college career start.

The communication among the offensive line was crucial, and with Jackson set to return for the next game against Marshall, the team is expected to take another step forward. Head coach Ryan Day and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly praised the progress made by the offensive line, especially center Seth McLaughlin, for his ability to communicate effectively on the field.

Adding a proven leader like Jackson, who has made 26 starts, back into the mix is expected to further enhance the level of communication and performance of the offensive line. Communication was highlighted as a key focus during the bye week, and senior right tackle Josh Fryar emphasized the importance of everyone on the offensive line being on the same page. The team is looking forward to continued progression and improvement as they strive for excellence on the field.
