Ohio Wesleyan’s senior forward Jaggar Brooker led the offense with a goal and 2 assists in a 5-0 victory over Capital in a non-conference match. The Bishops took an early lead with a goal from junior back Gabe O’Reilly, and then increased their lead in the second half with goals from Logan Lewarchick, Justin Carro, and Franklin Rodriguez. Head coach Jay Martin praised the team’s performance and highlighted the strong play of Mathias Koo and Ryan Betts. The victory was much needed for the team after facing tough opponents in the early part of the season. Overall, Ohio Wesleyan outshot Capital 29-9, with goalkeeper Sam Whitman making 4 saves and freshman Zach Herzberg completing the shutout. The team will now have time to refine their play before their next match on Friday. The win against Capital will hopefully provide the momentum needed to continue to succeed throughout the season.
