The City of Delaware has provided an update on various construction projects happening in the area. The Sawmill Parkway Extension has a new roundabout at the intersection of Sawmill Parkway and South Section Line Road that is now fully open, with final work within the project area continuing for several weeks. The West William Street and Carson Farms Boulevard Traffic Signal is also operational, with remaining incidental work to be completed in the next couple of weeks. The Point Improvements project has seen progress with temporary railroad bridge steel girders successfully installed and traffic patterns now in place for the rest of the year.
Other projects include the Pennsylvania Avenue Paving project, Pittsburgh Drive Resurfacing, Noble-Ross-David-Eaton Paving, Colomet Drive Reconstruction, and East Central Avenue Turn Lane at Milo Street. Liberty Road is currently closed for culvert replacement, with a detour in place for 45 days. The City is also planning a second phase of its Citywide Crack Seal Program in October and Columbia Gas is making gas main connections in various areas.
Overall, the City of Delaware is making progress on a number of construction projects, with completion dates ranging from the next two weeks to November.
