Time is Running Out to Register to Vote

Delaware residents who have not yet registered to vote are running out of time to do so ahead of the November General election. The deadline to register is 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, October 12. Anyone who will be at least 18 years old on election day, November 5, and is a US citizen residing in Delaware is eligible to register.

According to Cathleen Hartsky-Carter from the Delaware Department of Elections, there are multiple ways to register, including using the voter portal at Ivote.de.gov. It is important to have a Delaware driver’s license or state ID on hand while using the portal to sign the form online. Other options include visiting a Department of Elections office or printing and filling out a form from the Department of Elections website.

In addition to the presidential race, Delaware ballots will feature races for US Senate, US House, Governor, and other statewide offices, as well as numerous local races. Election day is set for November 5, with early voting beginning on Friday, October 25.

Delawareans are urged to take advantage of the remaining days to register before the deadline passes. This election presents an opportunity for residents to have their voices heard and help shape the future of their state and country. Make sure to register by Saturday to ensure your participation in the upcoming election.
