Hungary’s rising political star, Péter Magyar, outlined his vision for a new and modern Hungary in an exclusive interview with Euronews. Magyar, leader of the Tisza party, is seen as the only popular alternative to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. In the interview, he discussed Orbán’s media machine, his own legal battles in Hungary, as well as his stances on Ukraine, migration, and relations with China.
Meanwhile, EU justice ministers are set to meet in Brussels to discuss Schengen, migration, and asylum policies, following Germany’s reintroduction of land border controls to manage irregular migration. They will also address the EU regulation targeting online child sexual abuse material, a priority for Hungary’s Council presidency, but a vote is unlikely due to lack of consensus among member states.
