Delta High School senior Bronson Edwards was recently named the Delaware County Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance in a football game against Heritage. Edwards led his team to a 54-14 victory with 11 completions for 200 passing yards, along with two touchdown passes and two rushing touchdowns.
The Ball State Daily News, in partnership with the Muncie Sports Commission, presents this award to recognize high school athletes who have excelled during the week. Candidates are chosen based on their exceptional performances and the community is invited to cast their votes. The winner is announced every Tuesday evening following the end of the voting period.
The program aims to highlight the talent and hard work of local student-athletes and will also contribute to selecting nominees for an end of the year award show in the spring. If you know of a deserving candidate for the Athlete of the Week award, you are encouraged to email the Daily News sports editors with your suggestions.
The nominations for the next Athlete of the Week, covering the period from October 28 to November 2, will be announced on November 4. This initiative not only celebrates young athletes in the community but also encourages sportsmanship and dedication in high school athletics.
