A person was taken into custody in a building occupied by a Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown Atlanta after a report of a person with a gun on Tuesday afternoon. Gunshots were heard at the high-rise, but it is unclear if anyone was injured. A shelter-in-place order was issued and subsequently lifted as the suspect was apprehended. The Atlanta Police Department asked people to avoid the area as they investigated the incident. The order included a recommendation for those in the high-rise to stay away from windows. A SWAT team and police sniper were part of the response, and a perimeter was established around the building. The Four Seasons Hotel occupies 19 of the 53 stories in the building, with 244 rooms, including suites. The building also houses residences, businesses, and offices. The situation is still developing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
