The Ball State Daily News and the Muncie Sports Commission have announced the nominees for the Volleyball Player of the Year award in Delaware County. The award will be presented at an awards show in the spring. The nominees include senior Charlotte Vinson from Yorktown, senior Trishell Johnson from Daleville, senior Amelia Hudson-Roberts from Wes-Del, senior Sophia Beeson from Wapahani, senior Lilly Howell from Burris, senior Addie Phillippe from Delta, sophomore Savannah Hall from Cowan, and junior Grace Walker from Muncie Central. Honorable mentions were also awarded to other standout players in the county.
Charlotte Vinson of Yorktown has been instrumental in leading her team to the 4A state championship game at Ball State’s Worthen Arena. Trishell Johnson of Daleville has garnered over 1,000 kills in her four-year high school career. Amelia Hudson-Roberts from Wes-Del has been a key player for the Warriors with her impressive stats. Sophia Beeson of Wapahani led her team to a strong record this season. Lilly Howell of Burris has shown exceptional skill on the court, recording over 1,000 kills. Addie Phillippe of Delta has been a reliable player for her team throughout the season. Savannah Hall of Cowan has emerged as a top player despite her young age. Grace Walker of Muncie Central has shown leadership and talent both on and off the court.
