Inmates at Delaware correctional center receive cooking lessons for Thanksgiving dinner – NBC10 Philadelphia

Inmates at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington, Delaware had the opportunity to learn how to cook Thanksgiving dinner as a part of a program aimed at teaching them valuable culinary skills. The event, covered by NBC10 Philadelphia, allowed the inmates to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving meal under the guidance of professional chefs. From roasting turkeys to making stuffing and pies, the inmates learned the ins and outs of preparing a holiday feast.

The program not only provided the inmates with practical cooking skills, but also a sense of accomplishment and pride in being able to contribute to a special holiday meal. It also offered them a chance to connect with their fellow inmates and staff members in a positive and constructive way.

Overall, the cooking program at the correctional center was a meaningful and rewarding experience for the inmates involved. It allowed them to learn new skills, build relationships, and take part in a holiday tradition that they may have missed out on otherwise. With the success of this program, there is hope that similar opportunities for learning and growth will continue to be offered to inmates in the future.
