Mona Parikh appointed as Chief Administrative Officer of New Castle County


New Castle County Executive-elect Marcus Henry has named Mona Parikh as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the county. Parikh will be responsible for overseeing the executive, administrative, and operational functions of the county, as well as assisting in the preparation and supervision of the county’s budgets.

Parikh brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as the chief of staff to Wilmington City Council since November 2022. Prior to that, she worked in Delaware’s startup and business development ecosystem and also taught entrepreneurship as an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware and for the National Science Foundation’s iCorps Program.

County Executive-elect Marcus Henry expressed his excitement about Parikh joining the team, highlighting her diverse leadership experience and deep connection to the community. Parikh, who holds a law degree from Delaware Law School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware, expressed her honor at being chosen for the position and her commitment to ensuring efficient and effective services for the county’s residents.

Henry is set to succeed Governor-elect Matt Meyer as county executive on January 7. With Parikh on board as the Chief Administrative Officer, the Henry Administration is poised to continue its work of improving county operations and delivering on its commitments to the residents of New Castle County.
