Former nurse Marybeth Cichocki has turned her personal tragedy into a mission to help the homeless community after losing her son to an overdose. For the past nine years, she has been distributing bags of essential items to those in need under the name ‘A Hug From Matt.’ Cichocki has also written a book about her experience and has collaborated with elected officials to create legislation related to drug addiction. Her dedication to helping others in memory of her son has inspired many and continues to make a positive impact on the community.
In a similar vein, the Imbierowicz family continues to raise awareness of carbon monoxide poisoning in memory of their daughter Carly, who tragically lost her life to a carbon monoxide accident 10 years ago. Both families are turning their grief into opportunities to make a difference and honor the memories of their loved ones.
