From London Devilettes Grads to the London Lightning to Delaware Speedway


Three Devilettes graduates will be representing Hockey Canada at the Women’s Euro Hockey Tour in Finland in December. London forward Emmalee Pais, Jocelyn Amos, and defender Nicole Gosling will be part of the 23-player roster. This tournament will provide a unique opportunity for the development athletes to compete internationally.

The London Lightning’s home opener in the Basketball Super League was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances related to ticketing. The commissioner is confident that the team will be able to fulfill its schedule of 34 regular-season games at Canada Life Place.

The APC United Late Models racing series will have nine stops, including races at Delaware Speedway in June and September. Last season’s champion, Kyle Steckly, will be defending his title, with Londoner Connor Pritiko winning the finale at Delaware Speedway.

The London Lightning started their season with a win on the road and will play their first home game in December against Windsor. The BSL has already made schedule adjustments after a team backed out, and hopes to expand to 12 teams next season.

Overall, it is an exciting time for sports in Southwestern Ontario, with local athletes making waves in various competitions and leagues. Fans can look forward to thrilling matchups and fierce competition in the coming months.
