Technology updates and challenges are discussed by the RSU 9 board

In a recent Regional School Unit 9 (RSU 9) board meeting, Director Kevin Bremner discussed the successes and challenges of integrating iPads into classrooms. Bremner highlighted the district’s participation in the annual ACTEM fall conference, where teachers and administrators learned about artificial intelligence, computer science integration, and more. The deployment of iPads to grades six through twelve marked a significant technological shift for the district, with teachers guiding students through the setup process. Despite challenges such as battery life and keyboard size, Bremner emphasized the importance of providing students with access to diverse technologies. The district has provided styluses for middle school classrooms and high school students, and continues to address challenges and provide educational opportunities for staff and students. The next RSU 9 board meeting is scheduled for Dec. 10.
