The University of Richmond football team secured a 38-24 victory on the road against Delaware State. The game saw standout performances from players like freshman Andrew King, who scored his first collegiate touchdown, and sophomore Landon Ellis, who had a 100-yard receiving game including a 61-yard touchdown catch. Quarterback Camden Coleman threw for 312 yards and a touchdown pass to Ellis. Zach Palmer-Smith ran in three touchdowns, becoming the first player to do so in a game since last season. Brandon Peskin added a 40-yard field goal to the scoreboard. Defensively, Matthew Traynor and Carter Glassmyer led the team with five tackles each, with Wayne Galloway and Matei Fitz contributing three tackles each, including two tackles for loss. The victory brings Richmond’s non-conference schedule to a 2-2 record, as they prepare to open CAA play against Elon next week. Overall, the game showcased a strong offensive performance from the Spiders, setting them up for a competitive start to conference play.
