The International Oleander Society recently held its annual membership luncheon at Moody Gardens Hotel, where new officers for 2025 were elected. The event was sponsored by several local businesses and families, and featured guest speakers sharing the society’s history and future plans. Special guests included descendants of families who introduced the oleander to Galveston and planted them across the island. The event highlighted the Betty Head Oleander Garden Park, inviting the public to visit and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal provided by Moody Gardens and learned about the importance of preserving and celebrating the oleander tradition in Galveston. The Society is excited to welcome the new officers and looks forward to continuing their mission of outreach and education about oleanders.
