Police are seeking a person of interest in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside the Hilton Midtown hotel in Manhattan. The suspect was seen near the Port Authority bus station shortly after the crime and police believe he may have left the city. The suspect arrived in New York City from Atlanta on November 24, staying at a hostel on the Upper West Side. He was seen wandering around the hotel area early on December 4 and entering a Starbucks before the shooting occurred at 6:44 a.m. The suspect then fled into Central Park, eventually getting into a taxi near Amsterdam Avenue. A reward of $60,000 has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman. The investigation is ongoing, with police seeking assistance from Atlanta authorities. NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny emphasized the meticulous nature of the investigation and the need for justice for the victim and closure for his family. The suspect is believed to have been acting alone and is considered armed and dangerous. Police are continuing to review evidence and track his movements in order to make an arrest.
