A house fire in Sussex County, Delaware is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal after occurring on Saturday night. The fire, which took place in the 22000 block of Westwoods Road in Millsboro, was reported shortly before 6:00pm. Fire officials arrived at the scene to find heavy flames coming from the single-story dwelling, which was occupied at the time. A female occupant had to be rescued by neighbors and was taken to the hospital in serious condition due to injuries sustained in the fire. The State Fire Marshal conducted an investigation and determined that the fire started at the front porch area of the home, with the cause still unknown. The damage is estimated at $200,000. The Gumboro Volunteer Fire Company and additional fire companies responded to the scene. Officials are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
