He expressed a desire to return to Syria to reunite with his family after being separated for years.
While celebrations erupted around the world following Assad’s ouster, concerns remained over the future of Syria and the broader region. President Joe Biden acknowledged the risks and uncertainties of the situation, as global leaders expressed hopes for stability in post-Assad Syria.
